I have an All In One 23-r017c running Windows 10 and my touchscreen doesn't work. I have checked in Device Manager and there is absolutely no "HID-compliant touchscreen" there. I have several HID-compliant vendor-specified devices when I turn on Show Hidden Devices, but no touchscreen. I have checked HP support and there are no drivers for the touchscreen, and I can find them anywhere else. It *should* be a Microsoft driver but at this point the device doesn't even appear in Device Manager. Perhaps if I knew the PID and VEN numbers of the device I could see if it's showing up as one of the vendor specified items.
It's very frustrating that Windows 8 forced the touchscreen market and then Windows 10 eliminated support for it.

Hi @xorange90x,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP All-In-One 23-r017c touchscreen is not listed in the Device Manager, it indicates that the computer is not recognizing the touchscreen as a connected device. There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue.
Restart your computer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Restart your computer and check if the touchscreen appears in the Device Manager after the restart.
Update drivers: Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause issues with device recognition. Visit the official HP support website and search for the drivers specific to your model. Download and install any available driver updates for the touchscreen or the overall system.
Enable hidden devices: Sometimes, devices that are not currently connected or recognized by the system are hidden in the Device Manager. To check if the touchscreen is hidden, follow these steps.
a. Open Device Manager by pressing the Windows key + X and selecting "Device Manager" from the menu.
b. In the Device Manager window, click on "View" in the menu bar.
c. Select "Show hidden devices" from the drop-down menu.
d. Look for any grayed-out or hidden entries related to the touchscreen. If you find any, right-click on them and select "Enable" or "Uninstall" (followed by a restart).
Check for hardware issues: It's possible that there could be a hardware problem with the touchscreen. Try the following steps.
a. Ensure that the touchscreen is properly connected to your computer. Check the cable connections and make sure they are secure.
b. If your computer has any USB ports specifically designed for the touchscreen, try connecting it to a different port.
c. If possible, test the touchscreen on another computer to see if it works. If it doesn't, it may indicate a hardware failure
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
