Hello,
My touchsmart 600 is having issues for the last couple of years, with frequent hangups, video driver errors and shutdowns, and lately it doesnt turn on at all, beeping 2 short and one long beep on every boot without turning itself on. I assume the video card is gone or not connected correctly.
My questions is, can the video card be replaced (or upgraded), or is it an integral part of the motherboard?
The graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce G230 1GB
Many thanks!

Hi,
Your PC is seven (7) plus years old. I am not sure it's worth much more or less the cost to repair. BIOS beep codes are listed here.
Remove the back and use a can of compresses air to blow out all of the dust from the internal fans. The give it a go.
If the graphics card has failed then you should consider a replacement PC as the replacement procedure should be done by a PC repair specialist.

Thank you Big_Dave, I have removed all covers and vaccummed the dust out of the card and motherboard.
Touchsmart boots now and hopefully it will work for a few more years 🙂
Is it possible to replace the nvidia graphics card in case it fails? I feel comfortable replacing parts but just not sure if it is even possible.
Many thanks.
