HP 25x
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am unable to activate AMD FreeSync on my 25x monitor. When I go into the "Viewing Modes" menu there is an option for "gaming" but not "gaming-FreeSync" as stated in the online manual.

I have also tried going into the "Response Time" setting and changing that to "5 (Fastest)" before going back to the "Viewing Modes" to see if that has changed it as has been stated in a few other forum posts such as this one:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Desktops/No-Freesync-option-in-HP25x-on-screen-menu/m-p/7695947

I am using DP 1.2, Windows 10 (64bit) and AMD FreeSync is enabled in my up-to-date Radeon Software

Does the "Gaming" mode activate it without telling me? If not then how do I activate it?

@ChunderBirds Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are unable to activate the AMD FreeSync.

Please refer to the below link.

@Praveen196

I do not understand how that link is suppose to help me, on the AMD page it simply states:

Please ensure that the AMD FreeSync capable monitor has been properly configured. Using the On Screen Display (OSD) controls on the monitor, verify that:

  1. AMD FreeSync is enabled
  2. Anti-Blur is disabled
  3. DisplayPort is set to 1.2 or higher

All of which I have done apart from number 1 (obviously)

That does not tell me how to enable FreeSync on the HP monitor, because as stated in my last post the section where there should be an option to enable FreeSync under "viewing modes" and then "gaming-FreeSync" (as is established in the manual for the monitor and on many other community posts). There is no option for "gaming-FreeSync" only "gaming" and no message comes up after I have selected "gaming" confirming that FreeSync is enabled.

So please tell me how to enable AMD FreeSync, as AMD surely wont be able to tell me how to operate the OSD that HP created for an HP product.

@ChunderBirds

I understand your concerns.

In that case, I would suggets you conatct our phone support and check for the support option. They will help you.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

We are experiencing longer than expected wait times to reach an agent due to the CoViD-19 impact and there might have been issues in you getting the expected resolution on the issue.

Have a nice day!!
