HP Slimline 400-265d
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hi, I have a HP slimline 400-265d. I bought a 4K tv and would like to change the gpu to it. I am thinking of zotac GTX 1050 Ti Mini. But I am not sure whether it is compatible.

I have successfully upgraded from gt635 to gt1050ti low profile

Power) I removed the 2 hard disks and left the ssd inside the PC. I will buy a hard disk dock for them. Doing so allowed me to reduce the power consumption to 250w. Though 270 watt psu is in the danger zone. I am unable to upgrade the psu because of the size limitation. So I had to move the 2 hard disk out of the casing.

Uefi) I googled and learnt how to check whether my motherboard is a uefi or bios board. I am very lucky that it is a uefi board which allowed the upgrade.

Physical size) I also learnt that the smallest size of a gpu is low profile. (I had thought that mini was the smallest size!) I opened up the pc to make sure I have enough space in lenght and height for the gpu.

Hope this is useful for someone

@Simon69

Have you thought about new PSU too ? Your Slimeline only has 270W of power.

Regards.

Hi,

The 270W power supply should be enough as long as you do not overclock the card . The card has a 75W consumption and the recommended PSU is 300W:

Hope it helps,

I took out the dvd rom drive but put in a ssd. I guess should help the power supply a bit.

Now I am concerned whether my motherboard pegatron Memphis-S is a legacy board. If it is, I cannot upgrade.
I read somewhere in this forum that legacy boards cannot upgrade their gpu significantly.
