hp 23-r110
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My HP 23-r110 AIO has recently developed a white vertical line about 3" in from the right edge of the screen.  I seem to remember it having appeared before and then being cleared with a cold boot.  However, a cold boot is not clearing it now and I wonder if there is any utility package to clear the vertical line? Thank you.

Hi,

I would suggest you to connect external monitor and check for verticle lines.

If there is no lines on external monitor, I'm sure display need to be replaced.

If you dont have external monitor, try to check on BIOS level.

If there is lines on BIOS level, display need to be replaced.

If there is no lines on external monitor or on BIOS level, you need to update graphic driver to resolve the issue.

Thank you Ruben for the quick response.  I did not have an external monitor immediately available so I opted for the F2 on restart to enter the bios (now UEFI ???).  Although the majority of the bios/uefi screens were all white, I was able to detect a portion of the vertical stripe so I will assume the display is not operating at 100%.  It is interesting that when I do a restart and get the initial black HP screen, the vertical stripe is yellow.

Since the vast majority of my use invovles a predominately white display background, I will probably live with the situation until something critical fails.

On a side note, I would like to increase the memory (only one dimm bank is installed), but I can't seem to find any instructions on how to access the memory compartment (or the HD for that matter).  Any links will be appreciated.
