Hi @Roachkid40,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding monitor!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It sounds like your monitor's OSD (On-Screen Display) menu is stuck in a loop, possibly due to a faulty button, firmware issue, or internal hardware problem. Here are a few steps to troubleshoot:
Perform a Power Reset
- Turn off the monitor.
- Unplug the power cable from the monitor and disconnect all input cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.).
- Hold down the power button on the monitor for 30 seconds.
- Plug everything back in and turn the monitor on.
Check for Stuck Buttons
- If your monitor has physical buttons, one might be stuck.
- Press each button several times to see if any feel jammed.
- If you find a stuck button, gently wiggle it or use compressed air to remove dust.
Try a Different Input Source
- If the issue persists, disconnect your PC/laptop and connect the monitor to a different device.
- If the problem continues even with a new device, it's likely a monitor issue rather than a PC issue.
Update Monitor Firmware (If Applicable)
- Some monitors allow firmware updates via USB or a connected PC.
- Visit HP’s support website and check if there's a firmware update for your monitor model.
Factory Reset the Monitor
- If you can access the OSD menu, look for a Factory Reset option under "Settings" or "System".
- If the menu is uncontrollable, skip to the next step.
Test with a Different Power Outlet & Cable
- Try a different power cable and outlet in case of a power fluctuation issue.
