HP monitor W2082a
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Even when monitor is turned off with button on monitor when I restore power to strip that monitor is plugged into the monitor comes on even though I do not turn it on with the button on the monitor?  Is this suppose to happen?

Don't worry, I'm here to help! 

 

Let's try these steps -

 

Access the OSD menu and look for the "Power on Recall" settings -

 

This feature restores power to the monitor following an unexpected removal of power. Select off as the factory default is On.

 

If the issue still persists, try restoring to factory defaults. 

 

You may also refer to the User Guide for more information.
