Help! My VERY old, HP w1907 19 inch LCD Monitor, will not run. The system is telling me to reinstall driver disk, which I do not have; the monitor is retired. I am attempting to connect the monitor to my laptop and update the drivers that way. Is that possible? If so, what type of connector cord would I need as this monitor only has VGA, DVI and Audio In ports. I need a female end and an HDMI end that I can transfer data.
Please be kind, I'm an older lady and I'm trying my best to figure this out. Thank you.

I don't know how far away you plan to use the notebook from your monitor.
You can use this kind of cable to connect your PC to the monitor:
3 Foot:
Amazon.com: AmazonBasics HL-007346 DVI to HDMI Adapter Cable - 3 Feet : Electronics
6 Foot:
Amazon.com: Amazon Basics HL-007347 HDMI Input to DVI Output Adapter Cable - 6 Feet : Electronics
If you want to transmit sound from the PC to the monitor, you will need an audio cable.
The product specs for your monitor indicate that it came with an audio cable.
HP w1907 19-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor (newegg.com)
I have zipped up and attached the monitor driver you need below:
Download and unzip the file to its folder.
Do not do anything with the files in the folder.
Go to the device manager.
Click to expand the Monitors device manager category.
Click on the Generic PnP Monitor listed there.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver.
Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.
Makes sure that the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

I don't know for sure, but perhaps it would be a standard audio cable that looks like this...plugs into the notebook's headphone jack on one end and the monitor on the other end.
4 Foot:
8 Foot:
Amazon.com: AmazonBasics 3.5mm Male to Male Stereo Audio Cable - 8 Feet (2.4 Meters) : Electronics
Check the audio outputs on the notebook and the monitor to see if that looks like it would work.

Anytime.
Glad to have been of assistance.
The specs for your notebook indicate that it has a HDMI port and a headphone jack output, so those cables should work.
