HP Business Z27 4K monitor
macOS 10.14 Mojave

My Z27 4K monitor does not work.

It receives power, it turns on/stand by/off (amber/white light on the front) but the screen stays blank.

When I plug my Mac, (I have tried with 2 different USB-C cables on my Mac Mini, and a Mini display to Display + HDMI with my MackBook Pro 2014) the front light changes from Amber to White and stays white (indicating it receive video signal), but the screen is black.

Pushing the screen buttons do not bring up any onscreen menu. It is like the LCD display is dead!

What should I do?

I just received 2x HP Z27's, I plugged both of them in. They were working fine, and then I unplugged them and plugged them back in, and one of the HP Z27 is exactly how you describe. Blank screen with no menu options working. My Macbook Pro does pickup the monitor, but the monitor stays blank (again, without the menu options working, which indicates that its the monitor itself and not any input source). Terrible hardware from a monitor that is £700 to purchase.

I have noticed that no one replied to this thread, which is again a terrible indication of the company and their support for users that are willing to purchase their flagship products.

I have tried all of the usual nonsense, unplugging it, leaving it discharged, various different inputs to no avail. I'll have to RMA the unit but such a waste of time.
