I'm having trouble with Zoom glitching and changing colors as I teach online. When I disable my camera, the problem stops. I haven't had this issue before. I de-selected all video options on Zoom like de-noise and hardware acceleration, but the problem persists. Any advice?

@EW112, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating to deal with camera glitches while teaching online. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Update Camera Drivers: Ensure your camera drivers are up to date. You can do this by:
- Pressing Win + X and selecting Device Manager.
- Expanding Imaging Devices or Cameras.
- Right-clicking your camera and selecting Update Driver → Search automatically.
Check Zoom Settings: Sometimes, specific settings in Zoom can cause issues. Make sure:
- Zoom is allowed to access your camera in the privacy settings.
- The correct camera is selected in Zoom's video settings.
Adjust Camera Settings: If your camera software allows, try adjusting the image quality, brightness, and contrast. This can sometimes help with color issues.
Test with Other Applications: Check if the camera glitches occur in other applications like Skype or the Camera app. This can help determine if the issue is specific to Zoom.
Reinstall Camera Driver: If updating doesn't help, try reinstalling the camera driver:
- Open Device Manager.
- Right-click the camera driver and select Uninstall.
- Restart your computer and let Windows reinstall the driver.

Thank you! It seems to happy only with my 4th period class. I don't have issues any other time with any other class. Any ideas why that would happen? I've found that if I update my driver (usually there's no update) and restart my computer right before 4th period, that takes care of the issue. However, it glitched once last week even after the restart. Really odd. I'll keep trying!

Hi @EW112,
Thank you for getting back. @Max3Aj is not available, so I am replying on behalf of our colleague,
You're very welcome—and that is an unusual pattern! If the issue only shows up during your 4th-period class, and not in others, it could be related to:
1. Specific Software or Platform Used in 4th Period
- Are you using Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, or a unique app during that class?
- Some video conferencing platforms can behave oddly depending on GPU usage, drivers, or browser compatibility.
2. Scheduled Network or Device Activity
- Your school or network might run bandwidth-heavy backups or scans around the same time.
- If you're on Wi-Fi, local interference during that period (e.g., a nearby class all streaming or using devices heavily) could be causing instability.
Suggestions:
- Open Task Manager > Startup tab, and disable anything non-essential.
- Use Resource Monitor during that period to see if a specific process spikes CPU, memory, or network use.
- If it's web-based, try a different browser just for that class (e.g., Edge or Firefox).
- Update graphics drivers and browser extensions, even if the driver says "no update" — sometimes reinstalling the same version stabilises bugs.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
