I have new All-in-One Desktop 27-cr1064. I am not able to adjust brightness. First of all, there is no button on screen /monitor to do that.
I goto settings-> personalization-> dynamic-> lighting. The brightness is is disbled. it shows 100% but greyed out. Its hurting my eyes and I want to get it low.

@shreedt, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It looks like your HP All-in-One Desktop 27-cr1064 does not have external brightness controls and relies on Windows settings. Since the brightness slider is greyed out, here are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
Update Display Drivers
Since your PC relies on the Intel or NVIDIA graphics driver, outdated or incorrect drivers can cause brightness control issues.
- Right-click on Start > Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click on your Intel UHD Graphics / NVIDIA GPU > Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
If this doesn’t work:
- Download the latest display driver from HP Support or from Intel/NVIDIA’s website.
Enable Generic PnP Monitor
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Monitors.
- Right-click Generic PnP Monitor > Enable device (if disabled).
- Restart your PC.
Adjust Brightness via Intel Graphics Command Center
If your system uses Intel graphics:
- Open Intel Graphics Command Center (download it from the Microsoft Store if needed).
- Go to Display settings.
- Try adjusting brightness from there.
Change Brightness via Power Plan Settings
- Open Control Panel > Power Options.
- Click Change plan settings for your selected plan.
- Click Change advanced power settings.
- Expand Display > Enable adaptive brightness.
- Set both On battery and Plugged in to On.
Check Windows Night Light or Third-Party Apps
- Go to Settings > System > Display.
- Turn on Night light to reduce eye strain.
- Use a tool like f.lux to control screen brightness artificially.
Check HP Omen Gaming Hub (If Installed)
Some HP AIOs allow brightness control via the Omen Gaming Hub.
- Open HP Omen Gaming Hub and check for display settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
