Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hello all, thanks in advance for any help.

I recently inherited an hp omen 25 inch monitor. I am using it with a fairly dated cpu that comes only with a vga input port for monitor. after purchasing a vga to hdmi cable the monitor flashes "no input found".

research tells me that not all hdmi cables are created equal, is this my problem or am I up against something else. I am fairly challenged, technologically, so knowing the why's and wherefore's are not important to me. If someone can tall me what cable I need or perhaps can send a link to the actual cable to purchase, I would be eternally grateful. Hopefully can be found on amazon.

thanks very much

Guy

@viperxl -- the document --- User Guide - OMEN by HP 25 Display (ssl-images-amazon.com)

indicates that the HP Monitor has 2 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort video-inputs.

Thus, "no signal" means that the monitor is not "listening" to the video-signal that your computer is sending.

So, use the OSD (On Screen Display) buttons on the monitor to tell the monitor which of the 3  inputs is to be the "active" input.

for details on how to activate the OSD.
