Computer will not recoginize a 2nd new monitor connected with a HDMI adapter through the "C" port on the front of the PC.  Monitor 1 hook up thru the HDMI port on back of PC.  What am I doing wrong?  Do I need a new video card to be able to have 2 monitors with HDMI quality?

Thanks

@fido10,

Welcome to HP Support Community,

Are you trying to setup the second monitor for the first time or Was it working before?

According to the Motherboard specifications, your PC has USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port port which does not support display.

I hope this answers your question.

@sandran,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know whether you can connect a monitor to the USB type C port on the computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I checked the specifications of your computer and see that the USB type C port doesn’t support the display.

I hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Cheers!
