HP All-in-One Desktop PC 27-cr0000a IDS Base Model

I recently purchased the HP 27 inch all in one ssd computer (windows 11) to replace my hp 22 inch all in one hhd  (windows 10)all in one.  As the 22 inch screen is still very good I would like to connect the two computers to extend the 27inch screen. Connecting the two computers via HDMI does not work. Trying to detect second monitor has not worked. Calling hp support I was referred to the paid subscription service.

Is it possible to use the 22 inch computer as an extended monitor, and if so can someone explain how.  Thanks.

As I indicated there are two types of HDMI . The HDMI-IN that can be used as a monitor and the HDMNI-OUT that does not allow it, your PC should have two HDMI ports, one IN and one OUT, and since it does not have the IN port it cannot be used as a monitor.

Hi @dnb80534

That is only possible if the monitor has an HDMI-IN port, but if it doesn't you can use it as a secondary monitor, and I believe you have only one HDMI port.

thanks for the reply. both computers have hdmi and i have connected them with the hdmi cable. for some reason my 27 inch does not detect the 22 inch computer. I did not know there were hdmi in and hdmi out, thought that it worked both ways. is this incorrect?
