You are correct.  There are adapters available for that purpose.  Most are USB to camera connections.  Roxio makes a kit just for that - if you need the software also.

Donot let the name throw you as that device and software will work with most any camera/VCR that uses RCA outputs.

or you can use a generic adapter

But software will be needed, too.

First - what is this "viewcam" in question.  Is this a movie camera or a webcam?  Post make and model, please.

On the model listed, there are no RCA inputs unless there is an add-on card similar to a Hauppauge for TV, etc.

It is an old type of video camera which uses video8 tapes.

My purpose to connect to a pc is to convert these tapes into digital version as in CDs or hard disc.

Although the pc do not have any rca in provided, am sure there is some form of adaptor in for such conversion needs.

I am truely grateful for all your advices and assurances on my quest for the video tapes conversion solution.

Incidently , i did some online searches myself and found the similar adaptor you recommended which is priced at $9.99.

I noticed it has very good positive feedback from customers who used it. So i will be considering buying that.

Will update again on the outcome.

Thanks again 👍
