@mozyandme -- the X2 has "2 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.2)"
So, you need a cable to connect from the USB-C socket on the X2 to a DisplayPort socket on the external monitor.
Or, if your monitor has HDMI input, see: USB-C to HDMI Adapter, 4K CLDAY USB Type-C (Thunderbolt 3 Compatible) Multiport Hub, 3-in-1 with HDM...
Add a standard HDMI-to-HDMI cable.
