Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

 

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:  

  1. Open the onscreen display.

  2. Use the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons to highlight Advanced Menu.

  3. Press the Select button to open the Advanced menu.

  4. Select Factory Reset from the Advanced menu.

  5. Select Yes.

  6. Press the Menu button to close the onscreen display.

    The monitor should show the correct behavior when going into standby mode.

unfortunately the computer does not even start up

 

when I press the power button, the monitor starts flashing black/red/green/blue as described here :

unfortunately I do not have any monitor select buttons as mentioned in the thread

please help me
