hi.

i recently got an all in one hp 24-dd0018la which screen was busted, 100% loss , since they gave it to me to see if i can use it i came with the idea of making a custom chasis for it and using the brains as a mini desktop pc but when i disconnect the panel it wont boot(7 blinking white led), if i connect it, plug it to the wall and then disconnect the panel it works flawlessly with my external monitor, all its grate but if i unplug it from the wall then it will ask for the panel again which its really annoying.

is there any way to disable the display check on boot up?.

i really want to do this project and thats the only thing on my way.

And please, if HP technicians don't know the answer, contact the motherboard manufacturer. Don't be lazy.

Hi @Rubenmza

That’s such a clever and resourceful project idea—repurposing the internals of an all-in-one into a custom mini desktop is seriously cool. I can imagine how frustrating it must be to have everything working except for that one stubborn display check at boot.

Unfortunately, based on HP’s design for the 24-dd0018la and similar all-in-one models, there isn’t an official BIOS setting or supported method to disable the internal display check during POST (Power-On Self-Test). The system expects the internal panel to be present and functional, and when it’s not, it throws that 7-blink error code and halts the boot process.
