Hi @Basicallysloth,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding changing display resolution to 165Hz!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP Omen 27i monitor is stuck at 120Hz instead of 165Hz, try these steps:
1. Check Your Display Settings (Windows)
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
- Scroll down to Advanced display settings.
- Select your OMEN 27i monitor from the dropdown.
- Click Display adapter properties.
- Under the Monitor tab, check the Screen refresh rate and set it to 165Hz.
2. Set Refresh Rate in NVIDIA Control Panel
- Right-click on the desktop and open NVIDIA Control Panel.
- Go to Display → Change resolution.
- Select your OMEN 27i monitor.
- Under Refresh rate, select 165Hz and apply.
3. Use the Correct DisplayPort Version
- The HP Omen 27i requires DisplayPort 1.4 to reach 165Hz at 1440p.
- Check if your cable and GPU port are using DP 1.4.
4. Update GPU & Monitor Drivers
- Update your GPU drivers via NVIDIA GeForce Experience or the NVIDIA website.
- Update your monitor firmware from the HP support website.
5. Enable Overclocking (Some Models Only)
- Go to On-Screen Display (OSD) Menu on your monitor.
- Look for Overclocking or Adaptive Sync settings and enable 165Hz if available.
Let me know if you're still stuck! 😊
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?"—your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
