Just bought hp24y monitor and found "Backlight Hours" section in the info menu already showing about 1600 hours. Life expectancy of the monitor as written on the box is 5 years. So I'd like to figure out should I bother with returning/exchanging the monitor or just let it be. For that purpose I'd like to know how this 5 years life expectancy was calculated (Eg. Working for 12 hours per day makes monitor live for 5 years, or 4 hours every other day, etc.) or life expectancy of LED backlights in hours (Couldn't find any reliable info in the net. Results differ from 10 000h to 100 000h from site to site.)
I wonder if anybody could provide me that info or any hints to where to get it.
Thanks in advance!
