I have just purchased an HP-24EA. Monitor

The Audio is very low with all controls at MAX from both speakers and headphones.

It is connected to a PC. Win10

The Audio from the  PC Soundbard is ok into headphones

But not loud enough from the Headpone Jack on the rear of the monitor (bad postion for that )

Or the built in speakers.

I have just replaced an old HP  circa 15 years use with this EA24. A mistake at the moment.

The sound was fine on that till it finally died.

Well any advice

@Johnnyg3liv

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand there's low sound from the monitor,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Did you update the audio and monitor drivers?

Have you updated the BIOS?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to do to improve the Low volume from monitor speakers:

If the built-in speakers on the monitor do not have adequate volume, perform each step that follows, testing for sound after each step, until you can hear sound and the proper volume:

  1. Close the software program you are using that is experiencing the sound problems. Test for audio using another software program.

If the volume is adequate using another software program, the issue is with the computer, not the monitor. If the volume is still low, continue with this procedure.

  2. Try to adjust the volume higher using the front-panel volume buttons.

  3. Using the buttons on the monitor, navigate through the onscreen display (OSD) menu to find audio or speaker settings and adjust the volume up.

  4. Adjust the volume higher from Windows on the computer. Click the volume icon from the task bar (lower right corner of the screen next to the time), and raise the volume to about 75%.

If the sound still doesn't match your preference, I must say that the monitor aren't designed for a loudness, if you need more sound than it can produce, I recommend getting an external set of speakers to suit your need.

Let me know if those steps worked for you,

If they did, that's awesome!

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck

Hello again,

I am not sure how to change drivers and Bios stuff nor did I expect to have to do.

I will maybe just return the monitor to PC World.

I have a couple days left for that.

In passing.

The output from the LINE OUT of my sound card is very good into headphones.

Lets call it a 10 So the INPUT to the Monitor is getting plenty drive.

It is lots MORE than what the audio level is from the Heaphone SOCKET on the monitor

lets call that a 2/3.

The output from the monitors speakers is very low .

I understand the speakers are not designed for HIgh Volume.

The reason I chose a monitor with speakers was so I did not need

external ones.

There was only HP and an AOC with built in speakers.

I seem to have chose the wrong one.

And having the Headpohone jack on the back of the monitor is a bit naff.

But the old HP monitor I used for circa 15 years was much superior.

And had the Headphone Jack on the underside of the bottom of the main souround.

I did expect to just plug this Monitor in and use it.

Not this Try this try that.

Sorry if i sound short but its the way I feel at the moment.

I have tried for days to get this satisfactory.

I thank you for your time sir.
