Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP 2010i monitor. Working fine earlier today. Tonight, while using computer, screen went black. Checked cables, and all secure. Forced shut down (because can't see screen). Rebooted with no problem. Initial images showed up, then went away, and screen went black again. I turned off the monitor, waited 10 seconds, and turned it back on. I could see the screen for 3-5 seconds, and then it went black again. Each time i turn the monitor off/on, same thing happens.  HELP

@TracyLynn38, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Confirm the Monitor is the Issue

Temporary Workaround

You may be able to use the monitor in short bursts:

Turn monitor off and on to briefly view the display.

Quickly press Windows + P and choose "Duplicate" or "Second screen only" if you’re trying to output to a second screen.

Or plug in a TV via HDMI (if available) and use that to view your system.

Test with Another Monitor

Connect a different monitor to the PC.

If the second monitor works fine → problem is with the HP 2010i.

If it has the same black-screen behavior there → confirms monitor hardware issue.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
