@Riich, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
The issue you're experiencing with the mouse on your HP All-in-One Desktop PC 27-cr1000i might be related to driver problems, connection issues, or power settings. Here are steps to troubleshoot the mouse functionality:
Check Mouse Connections:
- Ensure the mouse is properly connected to the USB port. If you're using a wireless mouse, check if the USB receiver is securely connected to the port.
- Try using a different USB port to rule out any port-related issues.
Battery for Wireless Mouse:
- If your mouse is wireless, check the battery level and replace or recharge the batteries, as low battery can cause connectivity issues.
Update Mouse Drivers:
- Go to HP Software & Driver Downloads and enter your product details to find and update mouse-related drivers.
- You can also open Device Manager, find your mouse under Mice and other pointing devices, right-click, and select Update driver.
Check Power Settings:
- Your system might be set to save power by turning off USB ports when not in use.
- You can change this by going to Control Panel > Power Options > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings, and then ensuring that USB selective suspend setting is disabled.
Run Troubleshooting Tools:
- Windows has built-in troubleshooting tools that might help identify and solve the issue. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters, and run the troubleshooter for hardware and devices.
Check for Interference:
- If you are using a wireless mouse, electronic interference can cause connectivity issues. Try moving closer to the receiver or away from other electronics.
Restart the Computer:
- Since restarting the computer temporarily resolves the issue, this could indicate a software glitch. Regularly restarting can help refresh the system and solve temporary bugs.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
