Envy 700-406pc
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

No video,. just stopped completly black screen. Tried a video card and it works but nothign from the on board, built in video.

That on board, built in video is actually a functional part of the CPU. The integrated graphics differ by processor, which is the AMD A10-7700K, according to the spec support page

The fact is that you already proved that the on-board graphics has failed by installing a graphics card.  If a separate graphics card is tolerable, then stick with that.  Repairing onboard graphics or changing the CPU is usually not worth the additional expense.

 

BTW: according to the above support page, that PC is over 3 years old, so probably not under warranty
