Hi @Rohan0071,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Since this is happening on your HP Desktop PC and not a printer, and you're seeing a red light or glow on both sides of the screen when dark content is displayed, this sounds like a monitor or GPU-related issue. Let’s explore how to fix it.
Steps to Troubleshoot the Red Glow
1. Check Monitor Settings
- Use the monitor’s physical buttons to open the OSD menu.
- Look for:
- Color Temperature (set to Standard or 6500K)
- Gaming/Visual Modes (disable any special modes)
- Reset to Factory Defaults
2. Update Graphics Drivers
- Open Device Manager > Display Adapters.
- Right-click your GPU (Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA) and select Update driver.
- Or download the latest driver from the manufacturer’s site:
- Intel
- AMD
- NVIDIA
3. Try a Different Cable or Port
- Swap your HDMI/DisplayPort cable.
- Try a different port on the GPU or monitor.
- If possible, test the monitor with another PC or laptop.
4. Run Display Diagnostics
- If it’s an HP monitor, you can run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics:
- Press Esc at startup → Select F2 for diagnostics → Run Display Test.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
