Hi @fred7394,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If you want to switch off the light on your HP desktop when it’s not in use, here are a few options:
1. Use Sleep or Hibernate Mode
- Sleep mode keeps the system ready but turns off most lights.
- Hibernate saves your session and powers down almost completely.
How to enable:
- Windows:
- Go to Settings → System → Power & Sleep.
- Set timers for sleep or hibernate.
2. Turn Off LED Lighting via HP Software
- Many HP desktops have LED control in HP Command Center or OMEN Gaming Hub.
- Open the app → Lighting → Turn off or set to “Off when idle.”
3. BIOS Settings
- Some HP models allow disabling front-panel lights in BIOS:
- Restart → Press F10 for BIOS → Look for LED Control or Chassis Lighting → Disable.
- Restart → Press F10 for BIOS → Look for LED Control or Chassis Lighting → Disable.
4. Physical Switch
- If the light is part of a monitor or peripheral, check for a dedicated button or power switch.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
