Touchscreen was working fine, did windows update now touch screen doesn't work and driver is missing

Run the UEFI diags by tapping F2 when you turn the unit on. Go to component tests and see if Touch Screen is one of the available tests. Run it if it's there. If that works OK, then yeah, sounds like the Windows Update may have inadvertently caused an issue with the TS. If you know which update it was, uninstall it. 

If the Touch Screen option is not in the diags menu, then that means the touchscreen is not being detected on a hardware level.
