Hi @psychi,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
To switch from PC mode to HDMI mode on your HP All-in-One desktop, follow these steps. Many HP All-in-One PCs support input switching between the computer's internal display and an external device connected via HDMI, such as a gaming console or another computer. However, the method can vary slightly depending on the model, so here's a general guide:
1. Check for the Input/Source Switch Button
- Many HP All-in-One models have a dedicated button or a function key to switch inputs between PC mode and HDMI mode.
- Look for a button on the side or back of the monitor labeled Input or Source.
- If you find it, press it, and it should toggle between the PC's internal display and HDMI input.
2. Use the On-Screen Menu
- If there is no physical button, your All-in-One PC might use an on-screen menu (OSD) to switch the input:
- Turn on the external device connected via HDMI (such as a gaming console or Blu-ray player).
- Press the Menu or Settings button on your All-in-One's display (this is usually a physical button near the bottom or side of the screen).
- Use the arrow buttons to navigate through the menu and find the Input or Source settings.
- Select the HDMI input option and confirm.
3. Use the Function Keys
- Some HP All-in-One models allow you to switch inputs using function keys:
- Press F9 or F10 (depending on your model) to switch between inputs.
- If this doesn’t work, try holding down the Fn key and pressing F9 or F10.
4. Update Drivers and Software
- If you cannot find any options for switching inputs, ensure that your PC is running the latest drivers and firmware:
- Go to HP Support and check for the latest display drivers and BIOS updates for your model.
- Install any updates and restart your PC.
5. Check HDMI Cable and Port
- Ensure that the HDMI cable is properly connected to the HDMI input port on your All-in-One and the external device.
- Try using another HDMI cable or connect a different device to the HDMI port to rule out any issues with the cable or the device itself.
6. Confirm if Your Model Supports HDMI Input
- Some HP All-in-One models only have HDMI output (to connect an external monitor), not HDMI input. Check your model’s specifications on the HP website to verify whether your All-in-One supports HDMI input.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
