I'm just wanting to know if the extra slots inside can take a video card since i think the one built into the mother board has gone bad because the VGA connection port to monitor has no signal to monitor? Model # p6774y

Hello
if it's your computer

HP Pavilion p6774y Magnesium Gray Edition Desktop PC Product Specifications

Motherboard Specifications, N-Alvorix-RS880-uATX (Alvorix)

1 PCI Express x16 slot Gen 2 speed

are you sure the problem is not something else?
Do you have a vga port and a dvi-d, neither works, or did you try DVI?

You may not need to install a video card!
You can install one, but old model, which does not need a big power supply, yours is only

  • Form factor: internal ATX
  • Total Wattage: 250W
