Hi there, I have faced a significant problem with linux distros on my laptop. I have a HP Victus 15 Gaming Laptop. The configurations are as follows:- Processor:- AMD Ryzen 5 5600H Graphics Card:- Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti The Problem is :- Whenever I booted up into a linux distro, may it be live or from ssd, The Brightness is dimmed. The brightness bar is inverted. Also the max brightness is the dimmed brightness and it cannot be further increased. This was the problem in most of the linux distros in this particular laptop. I myself tried the following distros :-
- Manjaro Gnome and KDE as well.
- Fedora 38 Workstation.
- Endeavour OS.
- Ubuntu LTS 22.04.2.
And the sane issue was reproduced. I searched online in Linux Forums and tried few kernel optimizations, but it didn't fix the problem completely. One of the kernel optimizations were to add a boot parameter acpi_backlight=video which made the brightness to maximum but the Brightness level couldn't be controlled, i.e. it cannot be decreased from the maximum brightness. I also tried some sysfs stuff but nothing worked. I have seen from Manjaro forums Organisation, ZorinOs forums, and Fedora Project forum respectively . Here the person has reported some more details of the system and also mentioned the things he tried. But couldn't fix it. I think this issue is still unfixed. Please help me to fix this issue.
