I am running dual monitors with my hp pavillion p7 1000 series desktop with two 2311x LCD monitors.  Everything was running fine when some update happened that I can't quite pinpoint. Now I have the Microsoft Basic Display Driver which causes duplicates of the main screen and the 2nd monitor is no longer recognized. How do I restore the right driver? I searched HP site and couldn't find it. Perhaps looking for the wrong thing.

I tried these steps to no avail. However I believe that it was an update to a new version of windows 10 that messed me up.

It turned out that I had to rollback the driver on my graphics card even though the latest driver had been updated months before the Windows 10 update. Somehow the Windows 10 update corrupted the driver and I had to rollback to the earlier one. It sounds easy but everyone was stumped. My tech went to a forum and after a couple other suggestions this one worked.
