All-In-One using Realtek rtl8723be 802.11 bgn wifi adapter only gets 10Mbps

My HP All-In-One uses Realtek rtl8723be 802.11 bgn wifi adapter, and only gets 10Mbps. With the new fiber optic line coming in, everything else is registering 250Mbps-350Mbps. If I plug into the Ethernet it'll blaze that fast, but I would prefer not to.

Is there a way to make the network adapter more relevant than a 14.4 modem?

Could it be the Position/Location of the WiFi?

Position of network/router are not the issue. Router sure at the fiber optic entry to the home, computer sits less that 14" away. Laptop 3' away  has no issues.

Drivers checked and current, but I'm not there right now. More to come....
