Asus pce-ax58bt not working

I have recently bought a HP desktop computer, where I want a wireless network connection on. To be able to do so, I have bought Asus pce-ax58bt: https://www.asus.com/Networking-IoT-Servers/Adapters/All-series/PCE-AX58BT/ 

I have tried to install it to the motherboard, where I plugged it into the PCI slot. Though I can find the internal connector USB, so this one I have not plugged in. (I've read, that this cable should only support the Bluetooth, which I don't need). 

I have installed the Asus driver, but the computer is not showing any wireless options 😞 

I'm not the best with computers, so maybe you guys can spot what I am doing wrong. Is

You may have to try another slot, even one of the x16 slots.  Yes, it can fit in the larger slots

The Bluetooth cable can go into the header pins named "SD HDR" assuming it is not being used for a card reader

I really recommend you obtain a WLAN card which fits in the m.2 slots at top right or #11 in below illustration

the SD HDR is just above item #14

@Paul_Tikkanen can recommend the WLAN M.2

In addition to the WLAN M.2 you will need an antenna kit which could be two wire antennas stuffed in the case or two cables that connect to a pair of antennas outside the case.

Hi BeemerBiker,

First of all thank you for your help!

I have now tried to change the slot, going from the PCE, to a x16 slots just underneath. (The rest is covered by the graphic card). I also put the cable in the SD RDR.

Now bluetooth is showing for the first time, but still no wireless 😞 
I have just posted a few pictures to show it. I don't get it?? I really want to make this work and not having to buy other stuff..

I think that card needs AHCI  ACPI enabled in bios.  A quick check is to bring up the device manager and look and see if AHCI ACPI or "Standard PC" is listed

I noticed there is an X in the Bluetooth device which means it is not working

Are there any alert icons shown in the device manager?

Also, best place for the card is the x1 slot immediately adjacent to the graphics card but the X16 slot should have worked

The adapter is not being recognized.

Look in bios to ensure that all PCIe slots are enabled.

Maybe not enough express lanes to go around???

- If the enable / disable options are in the BIOS then disable  any slots where nothing is plugged in.

Is the gen4 graphics card taking all the express lanes?

- select gen3 or gen2 or even gen1 if options exist.

alternately put the WiFi card i the first x16 and the graphics processor in the last x16

Try to return the adapter and get the WLAN recommended by @Paul_Tikkanen 

Possibly the bios has a whitelist and your WiFi card is not recognized as blessed by HP

I've been following this discussion and have no clue why the ASUS card didn't work just fine in the PCie x1 slot.

I cannot find what model Wi-Fi adapter ASUS used in that model.  All it indicates is AX Wi-Fi 6.

If you expand the Bluetooth device manager category in your screenshot, does it indicate what model Bluetooth driver was installed?

Unless ASUS installed an Intel AX201 or AX211 CNVI card in there (which I doubt), there should be no reason why the PC won't accept the card (no BIOS whitelist).

If you can find the Intel AX210 adapter desktop kit that I had posted for the other forum member, that would be your best bet.

Since you live in Denmark, I don't know what your buying options are.

I checked Amazon, Germany, and I didn't see that model for sale.

I did find an Intel AC 8265 kit, but you would want to go to Wi-Fi 6 or 6E nowadays.

Maybe it is showing up as an unknown device.

Are there any alerts in the device manager?  For example

And the driver I have downloadet is this one: ASUS PCE-AX58BT drivers for Windows 10 64-bit (driverscollection.com) 

There aint any alerts in the device manager. I have been into BIOS a couple of times, but I think it is kinda hard to know which thing to look at. 

I might try to deliver it back and start all over.. : (

That should be an Intel AX200 card they installed under the heat sink.
