Hello All,

 

I'm hoping someone with HP TouchSmart experience can help me. Can anyone tell me where to obtain the "Whitelist" on WiFi Card Upgradeability? Does one exist, or is it just a matter of checking which cards were originally offered in the 600-1120, and choosing one of those? Or does it go by manufacturer, as in "this manufacturer's cards will work and that manufacturer's cards will not work? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I would like to inform you that there is no white list of part for the upgrades available for your computer. You need to upgrade the wireless card based on the ports available on the motherboard.

Hello,

 

Thank you for your response. I've reviewed the info in that Manual earlier, it doesn't contain any info on WiFi Cards (Upgrades or otherwise). I've always had issues upgrading WiFi Cards in HP Laptops and All in Ones. I would never try to Install a Card into a Port where it doesn't belong. I do a considerable amount of research before attempting any Upgrade. I do this for myself, not for anyone else, I'm not in the PC Upgrade Business. Everything I do comes out of my own pocket, so I truly try to be correct the first time. There is a "Whitelist", whereby some WiFi Cards will work in an HP Device and some will not.

 

If you don't call this a "Whitelist", what would you call it? Please let me know. Thank you again.

I recommend you use a USB wireless adapter it works exactly the same way a wireless card work as I am unable to find any whitelist of the wireless cards for your computer.
