Hi @Galeazzo,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the function of your ALT and CMD (Windows) keys has been swapped, likely due to a setting change or some unintended key combination.
To restore the original key functions on your HP 350 keyboard, try the following steps:
Check Keyboard Settings (Mac and Windows)
If you're using a Mac:
- Go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Modifier Keys.
- In this menu, you can switch the functionality of the Command and Option keys (CMD/ALT keys).
- Reset them to the default if they have been swapped.
If you're using Windows:
- There is no built-in feature to remap keys, but some software like SharpKeys or AutoHotKey can be used to remap your keys back to default.
Check for Keyboard Shortcut or Special Function
Some laptops have keyboard shortcuts that switch between different layouts. You might try pressing Fn + Esc or Fn + Shift to see if it reverts to the default configuration.
Keyboard Driver/Software Reset
- Unplug and Reconnect: If it's a USB keyboard, try unplugging it and plugging it back in. This can sometimes reset the configuration.
- Reinstall Drivers: If you’re using the keyboard with a Windows computer, you might also try reinstalling the keyboard drivers. Go to Device Manager, find your keyboard, and uninstall it. Restart your computer and it should automatically reinstall the correct drivers.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
