desktop - UT7G8B4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have always had our desktop connected via a wireless router. We have recently moved the desktop and needed to use a Wifi extender which is 5G. Our desktop does not show the new 5G network as an option for connection.

All our other devices in the room find and connect to the network fine.

Hope you can help

Cathy

Hi

Yes it helps.

So the WiFi adapter in the desktop is for 2.4 Ghz.

You have a "5G" which is either a 5.0 Ghz WiFi device whaich means it wont connect, or a 5G Mobile Phone device which it is not going to work with.

So you need to get a 2.4 Ghz range extender.  Replace the adapter in AiO device, its a desktop so it should be easy.

Fit an external 5.0 Ghz adapter to the All in One desktop.

Hi

So you have a  HP Pavilion All-in-One - 23-q109a (Touch)  with a

Antenna - 1x1, L550mm, Marcus Touch, NT

which suggests it is a single band and probably 2.4 Ghz.

So if you could run this please...

Copy, Paste and Save in Notepad, as LBB.bat and double click to run.
Post anything non-personal, but relevant please.

@ECHO OFF

PowerShell -Command "Get-NetAdapter"
PowerShell -Command "Get-NetAdapter -Name * | Format-Table -View Driver"

PAUSE

It will give the adapter that is fitted.
