Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've bought a 'new' HP JA323A. I think it was old stock. Does a 2015 manufacturing date sound correct?  As it didn't come with any instructions,  I installed it in my data cabinet and attempted to access it via a browser connection. Obviously a bad move as it wouldn't let me in and when I tried accessing it via the console cable supplied, using 'admin' and no password, it won't let me in.   I can't register the product with HP and get support as I can't access the switch to get the serial number off it. I've tried entering what i thought was the right number off the sticker label  found on the underside but it doesn't like it.

This switch doesn't have a reset button unlike some HP switches but there must be away to bypass the issue so I access the console.  I did see trawling somewhere on the internet that some switches have a default IP on the label but this has nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this? Thanks in advance for any assistance provided.

Hi:

HP split into two companies back in 2014.

HP supports PC's, Printers, Tablets and Calculators.

HP Enterprise (HPE), supports Servers, Switches, Routers and Tape Storage.

You may want to post your question on the HPE community support forum -- Comware Based Switches section...
