My wireless keyboard for my HP desktop stop typing. I have replaced the batteries. I've restarted the computer. The mouse works by the keyboard does not. Any thoughts on what I can do to get it working?

If your wireless keyboard has stopped working despite replacing the batteries and restarting the computer, here are several steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Sync the Keyboard with HP Digital Entertainment Center

Ensure that the keyboard is properly synced with your HP Digital Entertainment Center.

  1. Resyncing Keyboard:
    • Turn off the computer and remove any external USB devices.
    • Disconnect the power cord for 30 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power cord and any external devices.
    • Turn on the computer and attempt to resync the keyboard.

2. Check Keyboard Configuration

Ensure that the special or multimedia buttons on the keyboard are properly configured.

  1. Click Start on the taskbar.
  2. Select Control Panel.
  3. Click Printers and Other Hardware.
  4. Double-click Keyboard.
  5. In the Keyboard Properties window, click the Buttons tab.
  6. Double-click the button you want to change.
  7. Choose the button capability from the drop-down list.
  8. Enter the Display label and Address information (if applicable).
  9. Click OK and then Apply. Repeat steps for all buttons you want to configure.
  10. Click OK when finished.

3. Update Keyboard Drivers

Reinstall the sound card drivers using Application Recovery if necessary.

  1. Go to HP Support Assistant or visit HP Customer Care.
  2. Download the latest drivers for your keyboard.

Hope this helps!
