Hi,
I have recently gone back to computer gaming. I opened up and old laptop (thought to have had a virus on it) to see if it would run at all and if i could still use it. I found sucess in this for atleast 1 week.. until my laptop decided to start opening internet windows over and over again. Whether it is chrome firefox or anything. the same issue occurs. It has Norton 360 security on it and they say they cannot detect anything. i have tried factory resets. deleting all browser add ons and still nothing.
Is this fixable? or should i invest in a new laptop or pc? as it is quite and old laptop. Although i have seen alot of people have had the same problem and some of them have had the issue resolved.

@Jayden2117 Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that the Laptop keeps opening new windows over and over again.
Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.
You have Two security software that both use real-time scanning and this can in itself cause problems. I would suggest uninstalling one of them and then reboot the notebook to see if this helps. If the problem still occurs, download and install the free versions of MBAM and SUPERAntiSpyware on the links below. These are on-demand scanners only and will not cause a conflict with your main security software.
The above link is 3rd party and is not owned by HP, I've posted this only so that I may help you resolve this issue by going beyond my support boundaries, please ignore the ads and take only the free suggestions
When installed, run full scans with both these utilities.
Boot into safe mode with networking. Does it happen in safe mode?
If the issue still persists, you have to perform the recovery.
This document is for HP and Compaq computers that came with Windows 7 installed.
This document explains how to reset the computer to its original factory shipped state and is divided into sections based on the different ways of performing a system recovery.
Back up all personal files and read all caution statements before performing a system recovery.
The complete recovery process can take 4 to 6 hours or more to complete. For best results, the computer should be connected to the Internet. The computer restarts several times during the process. Do not turn off the power or interrupt the recovery process until the prompt to log in to Windows displays.
