Good Day,

I need help with my HP laptop. I lost my Wi-Fi connection and I've tried all possible ways to bring my wireless connection back but none of it succeeded. I can still use my laptop using a LAN connection but it will be more helpful if I am connected via wireless. Please help me on how to get the wireless option back.

Thank you!

Welcome to the HP support community.

Have you run a wireless card test on your computer?

Download and install the HP Hardware diagnostics tool from this link.

Once installed, shut down your computer.

Wait for a minute.

Turn the computer On and keep tapping F2 repeatedly on startup to enter system diagnostics.

Select the component test and run a wireless test on your computer.

Refer to this HP Article for assistance.

If the test fails or does not detect the wireless card, it could be faulty.

I hope that helps.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.

Hi! The instructions didn't work 😞 My wifi is still gone and even in device manager it doesn't appear anymore. My laptop gets internet when connected to ethernet. Please help me fix this.

@Hobynne

This seems to be a WiFi card failure.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
