HP Recommended

I changed the batteries on my blue tooth mouse, and now the cursor just moves in a square and is unusable.

 

I use a work laptop so can't just reinstall drivers. I have tried to speak to HP but the customer service is probably the worst I have ever experienced. I can see that multiple people have had this same issue and no one seems to have found a solution.

 

Does anyone know  how to fix this issue? Or are HP products just designed to break after 12 months?
