@mattscanlon, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If Bluetooth suddenly disappeared from your HP desktop, it could be due to a driver issue, a Windows update, or a hardware-related glitch. Here are some steps to help you restore Bluetooth functionality:
Check Device Manager
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Look for Bluetooth in the list. If it's missing:
- Expand Network adapters and check for any Bluetooth-related entries.
- Click View > Show hidden devices to ensure it's not hidden.
Run Bluetooth Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.
Re-enable Bluetooth in BIOS (if applicable)
Sometimes Bluetooth gets disabled at the hardware level:
- Restart your PC and press Esc or F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
- Look for Built-in Device Options and ensure Bluetooth is enabled.
- Save changes and exit.
Reinstall Bluetooth Drivers
- Visit the HP Support Website and enter your desktop model.
- Download and install the latest Bluetooth driver for your system.
- Alternatively, you can use HP Support Assistant to automatically detect and install missing drivers:
Check Windows Services
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Find Bluetooth Support Service.
- Make sure it's Running and set to Automatic.
- If not, right-click > Properties > Start the service.
Windows Updates
- Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any pending updates.
- Install all updates and restart your PC.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
