Product: Example: Pavilion s5-1114-pc
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Did a clean re-install of 'windows 7. Ethernet adapter now doesn't work due to not having drivers installed. Found driver file on hp website. sp58084. When trying to install i get error message saying my system doesn't meet requirements for update. Update cancelled. Error 9996. Where do i find the correct driver?

You can install the latest Realtek ethernet driver directly from Realtek at the link below.

 

Download, unzip and run the setup application from the W7 driver file at the link below.

 

Realtek PCIe FE / GBE / 2.5G / Gaming Ethernet Family Controller Software - REALTEK
