Hi @Idontcarw,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

When your HP desktop shows “No Wi-Fi networks found” after moving it, it usually means the wireless adapter isn’t detecting any signals. This can happen due to hardware, driver, or settings issues. Here’s the recommended troubleshooting path:

Step 1: Check Physical Setup

  • Ensure the desktop is within range of your router (Wi-Fi signals weaken through walls/floors).
  • If your desktop uses an external Wi-Fi antenna, make sure it’s securely attached.

Step 2: Verify Wireless Adapter

  • Press Windows + R, type ncpa.cpl, and hit Enter.
  • Look for Wi-Fi. If it’s missing or greyed out:
    • Press Windows + X → Device Manager → Network adapters.
    • Check if the wireless adapter is listed. If not, it may be disabled or disconnected.

Step 3: Enable Wi-Fi

  • In Device Manager, right-click the wireless adapter → Enable device.
  • If it’s enabled but still not working, proceed to driver update.

Step 4: Update/Reinstall Wi-Fi Driver

  • Go to Official HP® Support.
  • Enter your desktop model.
  • Download the latest Wireless LAN driver for Windows.
  • Install and restart your PC.

Step 5: Run HP Network Check

Step 6: Test with Ethernet or USB Wi-Fi Adapter

  • If Wi-Fi still doesn’t work, try connecting via Ethernet or use a USB Wi-Fi adapter as a temporary solution.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
