Officejet 6100
macOS 10.12 Sierra

When I got a new router from Verizon, the Officejet 6100 was no longer visible on the network -- although the printer claimed (when I printed the wireless test page) that it was connected to that network.

Eventually I reset the printer's network settings. Big mistake. Now the printer says it's offline. And the blue "wireless" light just flashes (for which there is no explanation in the manual).

Isn't this thing supposed to have a default built-in wireless presence that I can connect to somehow?

I can print with a direct USB connection, and I suppose with this connection I could set up wireless printing if I had the HP Utility software that the manual tells me to run. But that doesn't appear to be available anywhere online from HP.

So my request is:

 * Anybody have HP Utility for MacOS (10.12 Sierra)?

 * Is there some other way to set up wireless printing? [Never again will I buy a printer without a control panel!]

SOLVED!

1. Connected Officejet 6100 printer to the Verizon router with an Ethernet cable.

2. Pressed Resume and Wireless buttons on Officejet to get a printout of Network Configuration.

3. Used printer's IP address from step 2 to connect to printer's embedded web browser using a web browser on my computer.

4. Selected Wireless Setup Wizard to choose my home's wireless network and enter passphrase (password).

5. Disconnected Ethernet cable

Now printer is (finally!) online wirelessly.

Hope this helps someone! (Wish I'd found this simple step-by-step somewhere in the manual.)
