I am trying to install the card but I don't see the slots on the motherboard to plug in the card. Am I out of luck and I just happened to by the wrong computer to do VIve wirelessly. Seems strange as I paid $1400 for a VR ready machine whereas a cheaper PC I bought had the slots. Or, is there a workaround? Could the slots be hiding underneath the GTX 1070 card, I could not see them but maybe I am overlooking?
Thanks for any clarity/guidance
Todd

I guess I misunderstood the problem.
If there is some reason you MUST use that particular gigabit wifi adapter, you can't use it in that PC.
What I was recommending is if you just need a wireless speed of 1 GB or more, then the Intel 9560 wifi card will work as a direct swap for the Realtek wifi card in the PC now.

Hi, Todd:
Your PC has the slot, but it is probably buried underneath the graphics card, since it takes up two PCI blanks.
See the picture of the motherboard below.
The product specs for your PC indicate that it came with a dual band wireless AC card, which means it should have two antenna cables connected to the M.2. wifi card it originally came with.
I would return the card you bought, and just do a direct swap of the M.2 wifi card in there now.
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 9560 802.11ac 2 × 2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 5.0 Combo Adaptor (non-vPro)
HP part number L22634-001
It has a max throughput of 1.73 GB/S

Doh! I stated the wrong computer. That was one I bought last semester. The one I am working on tonight is a OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop 875-0060..... in the slot below the GTX1070 card is a slot/outlet that has a cable plugged into it and a round battery next to it. I followed that cable across the chasis to a card that is screwed in and appears to need that plug in point. I though to experiment and unplugged it and see if the card could fit into it.
Any ideas?

Hi:
Nope, that motherboard does not have a PCIe x1 slot.
See the specs page below...

But you can swap out the RTL8822BE wifi card for the Intel one I posted above anyway.
