@harmis_69, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Wi-Fi Connection Issues on Your Laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your laptop is showing that it is connected to Wi-Fi but there is no internet access while other devices are working fine, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Restart Your Devices:

  • Restart your laptop and router. This can often resolve temporary issues.

Check for Network Issues and Settings:

  • Make sure your laptop is within a range of the Wi-Fi signal.
  • Ensure that the network cable (if using Wi-Fi extender) is properly connected.

Update Drivers:

  • Make sure your network drivers are up to date. You can use Device Manager or HP Support Assistant to update drivers.
  • Use HP Support Assistant, which can be found preinstalled on HP PCs, or download it here.

Reset Network Settings:

  • Go to Settings -> Network & Internet -> Status -> Network reset. This will reinstall network adapters and set your network settings back to the default.

Check Firewall and Security Software:

  • Sometimes firewall or security software can block the connection. Try disabling them temporarily to see if that resolves the issue.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

I read Zooeys response. I have no network connectivity on my HP Envy desktop even though the laptop next to it connects perfectly. When i go to and click on " Internet and networking "on the system page, the dialogue box disappears and it will not open the internet connectivity. Additionally, the icon for my internet connection has disappeared ( and is not hidden) from the task bar. This all started after this desktop got stuck in opening after an update so I went back and removed the quality update. I don't know if that did it. Mistakenly calling my my internet provider, they saw the keyboard wireless dongle and said incorrectly that that was the networking dongle ( networking is likely internal to this desktop. Needless to say, I cannot connect this desktop to my wifi connection and I am one room away from the router so no ethernet is possible. The advanced look at networking all says my drivers are up to date. Will I have to go to an HP service at Best Buy?
