Hi. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse, both HP. I lost the small USB receiver dongle. I’ve bought a new HP wireless mouse with USB receiver dongle. I tried the keyboard and original mouse with the new dongle but neither would connect. So I tried the new mouse. It works fine. The keyboard still won’t connect to this new dongle. Any advice much appreciated as it’s for my son to use for home schooling during lockdown. I’ve put new batteries in the keyboard. Thanks.

No, new dongle only works with new mouse, it won't work with old mouse nor keyboard because each set must have a code to communicate. HP has a product called 5-Link BUT it only work up to 5 mice/keyboards which support 5-Link technology.
Why we can't use one USB for all ? Just thinking one small room with 20 people and all dongles use same code for all 20 mice and 20 keyboards.
Regards.
