OMEN X by HP Desktop PC - 900-072a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a latency problem when using my keyboard.  Logitech advised that my Logitech K350 wireless keyboard/mouse combo be plugged into a USB 2.0 port but all the USB ports on my Omen X are 3.0.  What keyboard/mouse combos have worked for you?

USB 3.0 is also backward-compatible with USB 2.0, so you can plug a USB 2.0 peripheral into a USB 3.0 port and it will function properly. You can also plug a USB 3.0 peripheral into a USB 2.0 port and it will work just fine.

I hope that helps.

Welcome to HP support community.

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Let me know how it goes.

Hi Sandytechy20,

Ran all the steps you suggested.  Everything on my Omen was up to date.

What keyboard/mouse combo will work well with my Omen X?

Cheers

Since this computer has only USB 3.0, you can get any keyboard which has USB 3.0.

I hope that helps.

Please tell me the name and model number of a keyboard/mouse combo that works well with USB 3.0.  The internet is strangely silent about whether such combos are suitable for plugging into a USB 3.0 port.
