BETTER TO BUY LOGITECH WIRELESS MOUSE & KEYBOARD. I too lost my USB Receiver and the H.P wireless Mouse & Keyboard are rendered useless.   One can get a spare USB Unifying Receivers separately for the Logitech Wireless Mouse & Keyboards Unlike the HP. I  will go for the Logitech ones in future instead of HP for my HP Laptop
